Rain on tin eyes |
Text: Martin C. Davies | |
|
When years are smiling through the rain The cold comes warming up the pain The night comes sooner every day Yet the summer now is on the way Stay dark things, leave me at rest While daylight searching, I do my best The future stretches endlessly, one inch from my face Yet if I move to travel it, I leave behind just space Into darkness throw yourself, the day holds for me no light When all these years that I was wrong - was I right Come rain shield the pain and tears, from those I love Pour down your comfort and warmth from above I am as a lonely wave that no one ever sees The wind that softly bends the grass and whispers through the trees Have you heard the rain upon tin eyes Look quickly while you can, the storm as always dies --------------------------------------------- Reflections upon snoitcelfeR © Martin C.
